You know what being a painter is like?

Painting is like maintaining an erection while white water rafting 

It’s like doing 20 whip its and going down a water slide 

Finishing a painting is kind of a relief, like getting your back cracked 

But it’s also kind of like when your kid leaves for college, or you make a lot of money 

You lose your purpose , that’s why you have to start the next painting really fast 

In this life there are no excuses

It's just you and the brush in your hand 

Either you make magic or you don’t 

And if you don’t you have to work in fast food 

And even if you do you still might have to work in fast food 

But you can’t feel bad for yourself because you knew what came with this life when you chose it
